I keep wondering what happened to Nora Heflin who played, Moco. She was so good and convincing in that role that it made you wonder whether or not she was an actual lesbian. All actors say there is a bit of themselves in each part they play.

Moco had that nasty suspicious sneer that bitches cultivate so well. She reminded me of a girl who bullied me in high school. Denny, well Denny was kinda creepy too with her bug-eyes and instability. "She was beaten before she could even walk." That made me feel sorry for her more than anything. I didn't like the patronising way Miss Lascoe treated her.

Moco seemed like your "run of the mill" nasty dyke, while Denny seemed like she had more than a few screws loose, espeacially when she gets slapped and she is shaking with rage staring at Lascoe.

I dont know why but after many years of watching this I aleway6s considered Denny "the worst one" or "the crazy one". I think because she had "crazy eyes".

Now I just rewatched it and I realize Moco is just as bad as Denny, if not worse.

well iw ouldnt wanna run into EITHER oif em in the showers, lets just put it that way!

Denny creeped me out the most because she seems the most troubled. I think she attached herself to the other girl because she seemed to be the bravest or strongest. It was her protection I think it that is how I saw it.

Denny clearly had some serious mental disorder. Maybe bipolar but at least major depression.

The scene where she is waiting for family to visit hits me hard because I too was in a place like this as a teen and it was heart breaking to not having family come. That happened to me a number of times. You see others eagerly awaiting family or even some complaining about family yet you have no one coming to see you.

It cuts you like a knife. No one outside the walls wants to see me. I went into a rage after a non family visit one day. That rejection hurts even if the family treated you bad.

She had some deep dark secrets inside her and I wouldn't be surprised if it involved incest or sexual abuse. She had an odd look on her face after the rape.
