Movie Trailers, The Castle, Comments Etc

If you have the Video Gems release of Frankenstein , it contains, I believe, the original movie trailer for Dracula at the end. I just ordered a used copy from Amazon and will know 100% after I have a chance to view it. But I do remember watching the trailer on the Frankenstein tape as a teenager.

Funny enough, Dracula's Castle turned up fairly recently in a gay porn flick called "Fire Dance". The exterior is unmistakable as is the courtyard from where Udo tearfully locks up before going to find his "wer-gins". The interior of the castle was used as well and the only thing that does look familliar are the stair wells that led down to the coffin room early on in the film.

Kier and Morrisey have both talked about the Villa and how and why it was used. I'd be curious to know if the place is still in existence and is it still used for location filming in europe. It was a lovely decaying old house.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I would love to see any additional footage that might be floating around alternate takes, bloopers, deleted scenes,(Paul Morrisey, I hope you're reading this). I was delighted to see the original screen tests and the original casting choices . The film certainly would have had a whole different feel to it.

I watched the film again last night, it still holds up as my all time favorite vampire flick.

Favorite Moment: Joe de-flowering young Perla and Mommy's reaction:
"You're just an employee! How dare you put my daughter in such an unfortunate position?!" Mckendry was priceless!
