Did anyone notice?

When Michael Caine's character is trying to lose his tail in the underground station he runs up an escalator bumping into a man who is carrying a rolled blanket over his shouler, when the guy chasing him bumps into the same guy he drops the blanket over the side and a woman falls out of it!

I assume it was some sort of joke by the film makers, it was very bizzare. I had to rewind it to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

Did anyone else notice this?

Not quite true.

The rolled blanket actually falls over the side of the escalator and lands on top of one of a couple of children who are playing and actually knocks the child over. But it's an interesting little sub-scene because it looks very spontaneous, ie I am not sure it was supposed to fall on one of the kids!
