Leslie Howard Adam's review of the beast must die is possibly the worst review I have ever read. The reviewer is both pompous and asinine and not nearly as funny as he/she thinks. User reviews are usually flawed at the best of times but that nonsense really takes the biscuit.

shareI've noticed there are several people that write reviews like they're taking a film class and think they're going to get graded on how absurdly pompous they can sound. It's that "you are all weak and worthless, only I understand the true meaning of the cinema" attitude. Consider... anyone that writes reviews on IMDB and uses their real name, or worse yet, three names... has to be grabbing at whatever fame they can get.
Then they review movies like this turd.
I had to go find it after reading this. You're right, it's like she thinks she's writing for a magazine or something. It has to be one of the most embarrassing things ever written (even more embarrassing than my own reviews, and that's quite a feat). What a moron.

After reading this thread, and then reading the review in question, I felt compelled to add my two cents.
Leslie Howard Adam's review is much better than most of what is to be found in the pages of IMDb. What did you people object to precisely? The complete sentences? The good spelling? The correct grammar and punctuation? I know that the American educational system has seen better days and that we as a country seem to get dumber each year, but is decent syntax considered pompous now?
Then, as if these posts weren't petty enough, you people put on your thinking caps and took things to the nether regions of pettiness when one of you actually criticized the reviewer for using his/her middle name. (If that truly was this person's real name, and not actually some play on the actor Leslie Howard's name.)
Finally, russcantdance, did you really need to create a new thread just to tell us how much you disliked a complete stranger's review? Or is this Leslie Howard Adam really a stranger to you? Perhaps you know this person in real life, and maybe he or she wronged you in some way and this is the form your revenge takes. I hope this is the case, because then at least you would have had a vaguely valid reason for doing such a churlish thing.
And, no, I'm not Leslie Howard Adam.
Most of the people unfortunately who write reviews on IMDB are TROLLS. No getting around that. It is very hard actually to judge whether a film is good or not based on the stupidity and hatred displayed in reviews. Best bet is to always watch the film yourself and then decide.
