This is a contender for worst ever lump of crap. The best scene shows a sheriff getting gored by bats. The characters are BEYOND forgettable, and the pacing made me feel like I just watched a 10 hour "Night Gallery" marathon (more crap). Unless you are a masochist,stay away from this film. And where are the bat people? There's only 1 bat guy in the story. I realize they couldn't call it Bat Man, but still. Unmitigated failure.

It's bad, I'll admit. There isn't one likeable character in the whole film, the special effects are laughable, and the plot ridiculous. But its not the worst i've seen by far. Manos is WAY worse, as is Hobgoblins and Red Zone Cuba. Actually, I would'nt even put this on the bottom ten of the worst MST3ks, let alone nameit the worst movie ever.

Have you ever seen Manos without MST?? If you can sit through it without the guys and their commentary, your stronger then me. I have both versions, and I must say that the regular version puts me to sleep. Of course the other version is well worth watching simply because it's so funny.
Red zone cuba on the other hand, is just plain unwatchable without the MST treatment. Again, I have both versions, and after a few minutes the story turns into a confusing mess. Rumor has it that the entire film was shot with no sound and then a handful of people dubbed the voices for all of the characters. The editing is awful, the use of stock footage reaches epic proportions, and the story is poorly explained.

shareI agree the worst movie title is throw out there much too often. This movie IMO was far from it. Yes it probably cost 10.50 cent to make, but it did have a legit star in it. But not only that the man/monster was not your usual I love that I am a monster now so I can kill everybody I do not like, and do like. In this movie even though he was transformed into a monster his personality did not change. He was still on the whole a nice guy who was given a bad break. So that alone stands it apart from the usual worst movie category. He tried his best not to kill people and he even stored some blood for himself. In most of these flicks the nurse would of never gotten away, but she did.. It was the sheriff IMO who was the bad guy and he got what was coming to him at the end. I have 3 suggestions. Go take a look and come back and tell me if this was one of the worst movies made. I got some more but this should be suffice. lol
1) Monster a Go-Go. Tell me what it is about after you see it because all I can figure out is seeing some astronaut being chased through a cave and he looks like a giant. But we are not sure because we never get a good look at him
2)Matango- Shipwrecked People turning into Mushrooms. Need I say more
3) Titanic, The Legend Continues. A light and gay musical romp about the cuddly creatures who had the misfortune of being on the Titanic. Yes a rapping dog wearing a NBA uniform is one of the highlights. Don't worry you have also have a Cinderella story thrown in for all you romantics out there. And to top it off did you know the Titanic had a happy ending? Well it did and this movie proves it.. All the animals are saved and are adopted by the survivors.

I think this is the position the film takes, that the sheriff is somehow the bad guy. But other than trying to solve some murders and being mildly annoying, he doesn't do much to earn the bad guy label. My guess is that the filmmakers were using vampirism as a metaphor for all the weird, misunderstood people out there who want to get away from mainstream society and "do their own thing." So the wife going off to join her husband in the bat cave is good, and "the man" who tries to stop them is automatically bad and gets killed for it. F@cking hippies!

That's why I try to avoid criticizing the movies on MST3K based on their content. You never know what they cut out...
Good point I never knew they cut movies. You would of thought they would of kept that part.
share"Manos:The Hands of Fate" is the WORST movie I've ever seen, the absolute worst! It has to be seen for its "badness" to be appreciated. I had heard for years how bad it was, but I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. It makes "Troll 2" look like an Oscar contender.
