Could a sequel/alternate version of 'Miss Jane' be done now?

Maybe retracing her life, but using different incidents to carry the storyline. Maybe more like an "interquel."

It wouldn't replace or reboot any of the original -- all of those events would have still happened -- but it would show different events of her life.

Cicely Tyson is still working at the age of 80, so maybe she could do a couple of more 'old age' episodes. Obviously there would have to be recasting for episodes when she is much younger. (Kimberly Elise, 46, has long been commented as strongly resembling Tyson so maybe she could do 'middle-aged' episodes.)

The original version picks up when she is 12, so maybe the new version could pick up when she is very small, maybe introduce us to her parents in slavery.

There should probably also be an episode in the 1880s/1890s -- between Joe Pittman's death in 1877 or so and the return of Ned in 1900.

There are also lengthy gaps between 1900-1927 and 1927-1940, so probably new episodes could be placed in there. 'The Great Migration' of African-Americans from the rural South to the North happened in the teens and 1920s ... possibly Jane could have moved up North for a year or two before moving back down South for her final decades.

And there certainly could be a new episode placed sometime in the 6 months after the drinking-fountain scene and her death in the original.
