Why isn't this in top 250?

Many Fellini films are: 8 1/2, Nights of Cabiria, and La Strada. But for some reason, Amarcord isn't. Personally, Amarcord is my favorite Fellini film. It maintains the surrealism of his art films, while incorporating the accessibility of his earlier work. It's the perfect marriage of Fellini's talents. Why is it people don't like this as much as his others?

I don't get it either... Amarcord is my favourite, too. It really is a hidden treasure - even if it won an Oscar and technically should be way more popular than it is. Maybe the few raunchy/sexual scenes were a little too much for some people? Maybe the humour was a little too "Italian"? Or maybe the average viewer needs a clear storyline in order to watch a movie? I really don't know. All I know is that people are definitely missing out.

This movie deals with real stories and memories of Fellini. Most of the lines are in dialect and the spirit behind the images and lines is far away from culture not belonging to Romagna so it is difficult to think that this movie can be full understood outside this region.

It will have a chance once it reaches 25,000 votes.
