I am glad that Erik Estrada dies in this!

Well aren't you? Maybe he lands on some swampland in Arkansas.

Man, that made me laugh. I'm glad there are others that hate him too.

Except that he wasn't blown out the hole in the flight deck (that was the co-pilot played by Roy Thinnes I think). Estrada was the engineer who was crushed by the engineering console falling on him!

Yes except that it was a mannikin that got sucked out. IT was so obvious I could not help but laugh. I found it intersting that Erik dies right away from that and the Captain who was closer to impact did not die at all, just had his face cut up.

I wonder why the guy above hates Erik Estrada. Is it his onscreen personna or his real life one. I have never had a problem with him myself. Actually liked him a lot during his Chips days. I also saw him on the Surreal Life which of course showed a lot of his real life personality and he was nothing but nice on that show and respectful to his other castmates.

Well the engineer (Estrada) was crushed to death, the Captain was (like you say) just lacerated. All of the debris was blown out the hole rather than exploding inwards, otherwise the Captain would have been killed also.

Gosh just now reading this 3 yrs later just a week past the date you posted lol. I watched all 4 Airport films apparently just before I posted on this board since I had them on DVD so I have not watched since. I knew that he died after that debris fell on him but I thought I remembered it didn't look like it was that heavy so I just couldn't imagine how he could get crushed from that.

He does come across a some sort of gigolo (if I understand the meaning), but he was so-as we used to say in Spanish class "mucho muy guapo". I'm sure he, in real life, acts more like a gentleman.

This reply was not under my comment but I assume maybe you made this comment to me. So do you mean he came across as sort of a gigolo always or just more in recent years. I really did like him on Chips. He had a lot of charm on the show and like I said in my old comment I saw him on the Surreal Life and he was just so nice and respectful to his housemates.

What about Julio's wife and kids?. Maybe Bette thought of them.
