Anyone know if this is going to come to dvd ?

Dear mylundon: At the moment no DVD release is planned for "99 & 44/100% Dead!" If you want to own its only video release, though, it was released on 20th Century Fox Video in 1982 in the U.S. and England. I've got 4 original videos of this -- all in un-cut boxes. Two of the four videos are the U.S. release and the other 2 are the PAL release from the UK. A fun movie with lots of satirical overtones. I guess the critics in 1974 didn't understand the movie so they gave it bad reviews. The ignorant swine.

I decided to horde several copies of this because I didn't think it would be released on DVD. So far it's been out-of-print for 24 years and counting . . .

Who knows -- some day it might materialize on a disk. I know it's been shown on the Fox Movie Channel, but they don't have the license to issue the movies they show on video. Just the rights to broadcast them on their channel.

Although good quality, the DVD from allcluesnosolutions.com is copied from the VHS release, which is pan and scan. The original film was shot in Panavision with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The pan and scan VHS release, at 1.33:1, is omitting a significant portion of the frame and occasionally distorts the image. The Fox Movie Channel often shows letterboxed films, and I'm hoping this will show up there in a widescreen format sometime soon.

I don't know if it's wide screen, but it is available for viewing at hulu.
