Ready For a Different Show on Buzzr...

"Tattletales" has been in the same late night time slot on the Buzzr network for quite a while. It was fun at first, but after viewing several episodes - some more than once - it just isn't entertaining. Most of the couples think they are extremely cute and fascinating, but they come across as nauseating. "We had reservations at a fancy Hollywood restaurant at 8 and accidentally showed up at 7! Oh no! How embarrassing!" Maybe if they had regular non-celebrity contestants, it would have been better.

Bert Convy is nice, but about as interesting as a flattened cardboard box.

I agree. I watched a little bit of an episode of "Tattletales" on Buzzr last night and the couples can be so vain and vacuous and just plain boring. If I have to hear one more time how hot Bobby Van thinks Elaine Joyce is (from Elaine most of the time) or how William Shatner lets the dogs sleep on the bed to his wife's chagrin (has been mentioned three different times that I can remember), I think I will find something else to watch. I mean...who cares?? And then at the end you see the people in the winning couple's section going nuts because between more than a hundred of them they get to divide up $1,200. Woo-HOO! (rolls eyes)

ETA: LOL, on the episode I watched last night, there was a question about whether first or second marriages work out better. All three couples, Phyllis Diller and hubby, Orson Bean and wife, and William Shatner and wife, who were all in second marriages, all said that second marriages are the real deal and much, much better, Shatner evening saying that, "We're in it for the long haul." All three couples were later divorced, Diller about a year after the show aired. I guess that's Hollywood for ya.

Buzzr should replace Tattletales with episodes of The Match Game or even
Family Feud with Richard Dawson, a/k/a, " The Kissing Bandit of American Game Shows."

reply

I wish they would show Hollywood Squares. I love Paul Lynde.

I respectfully disagree with replacing Tattletales with Match Game or Family Feud. Both of those shows are already shown enough on Buzzr. A lot of the times in those blocks. With so many old shows out there if they need to replace Tattletales I would like to see something different. Somebody suggested Hollywood Squares. I like that show too or maybe the Gary Moore hosted To Tell The Truth,

What I wish, is that more fresh episodes would be shown on Tattletales.

They are showing the same 12 weeks worth, over and over. The show was on for years, I can't imagine the reruns are prohibitively expensive for Buzzr to acquire.

The fun part is, seeing people I liked back in the day, and how I see them now, sometimes very obnoxious, sometimes genuinely nice.

And the "what we know now, that we didn't know then" factor, most glaringly with Bob Crane & his wife Pat.

And knowing that Jerry Stiller & Anne Meara truly seemed like wonderful people.

Didn't many of those celebrity couples end up getting divorced? And, yes, Jerry Stiller and the late, lamented Anne Meara were a very nice couple.

Can you imagine some of today's "celebrity" couples on a new "Tattletales"? Seeing Kim and Kanye, Kelly and Mark, among others, exchanging bon mots? Ugh!

Beam me up, Bob Eubanks!

Off the top of my head, I would guess at least half got divorced.

But since this show was made in the 1970's, lots of them stayed married til death, and very few are still alive, still married.

I'd also like to see more episodes. I liked the show a lot back then and now too. I often forget it's on and sometimes don't watch because of certain couples, but I think it's much better than what we usually see with game shows.
