Sadly, I don't think it holds up terribly well. I watched the show in prime time when I was a little kid, and I have to admit, even at that age I thought just showing Lee Majors running in slow motion was a pretty lame way of showing him running at superhuman speed. If you ever read the Martin Caidin novel "Cyborg" that the series was based on, you can also see how Steve Austin was toned down and made "kid friendly" for network television.
I'd love to see a reboot of the series, showing the more ruthless, harder-edged Steve Austin of the original book, and with modern special effects technology to depict all of the abilities his bionic limbs give him, but also showcase some of the limitations too. In the book for example, his bionic eye was just a useful hidden camera -- he couldn't see out of it, as they lacked the technology to tie it into his optic nerve. His left arm, not his right was, was the bionic one, and while it had superhuman strength, he didn't have the same dexterity with it, and no sense of touch. It was also attached to a shoulder that was still human flesh and bone, so unlike in the series, he couldn't flip cars over with it. I think they could do a fantastic job if they recreated this series (and provided they don't make it woke as shit, like everything else these days).
