Was this shown during prime time? Network? Time?

I seem to remember it as a Saturday morning thing

Every third person who complains will be shot. Two people have complained already!

You are correct. I TOO remember it on Saturday mornings...on CBS or ABC in think. Now--maybe 10-15 years BACK...SOME channel aired a few episodes late night--a few times...I THINK it was a program heading called "kitschen" or something--that had those episodes on.

Seeing them again nearly 30 years LATER..I wondered to myself..."how was I EVER entertained by these VERY poor effects--even as a CHILD? BUT...I DID like then--and STILL do--the "moral lessons" each episode taught--along with ISIS.

(which today has a MUCH different meaning--regrettably).

Yes, it aired from 1974-1977, I believe, and it was definitely on CBS. The first 2 years it was known as Shazam! but the last 2 years it aired it was known as The Shazam!/Isis Hour.

It was Saturday morning, on CBS. Filmation, who produced the show, also created live-action programs for Saturday morning broadcasts. Some of their offerings in this area are: Ark II, Ghost Busters (long before the movie), Space Academy, Jason of Star Command, and Isis, the companion show to Shazam. Hanna-Barbera also dabbled, a bit, with live action (like the host segments of the Banana Splits and the Danger Island segment of that show); but, Sid & Marty Krofft were the kings of that.

There was a prime time appearance of Captain Marvel, though. He was one of the heroes in the live action Legends of the Superheroes specials, produced by Hanna-Barbera, for NBC. Dr Sivana also appeared, played by Howard Morris (Ernest T Bass, on the Andy Griffith Show). Long before any of this, there was Tom Tyler, in the Republic movie serial, The Adventures of Captain Marvel.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!
