Did Jim ever give Angel.............

.......the beat down that I always felt that slimy little weasel deserved? 
I absolutely hated the "Angel" character - I never thought he
made any relevant contribution to any episode he was in.......and
unless he had literally saved Jim's life as part of their "back-story",
I have never understood why Jim would've continued to put up with/tolerate
such a sleazy little POS. So, I'm really hoping someone can tell me that Jim was ever SO fed up
with Angel, that he at least punched him square in the 👃,
or (please God!! lol) beat the ever-lovin' bejesus
outa him, leaving Angel needing a ♿!

(not that I advocate "real life" violence, but I do enjoy the occasional ass-
whuppin' on my fictional TV shows!) 😸

That pretty much sums up your post...

You can't go wrong drowning politicians Henry. The Black Swan (1942)

What's your problem? If you're in love with the Angel character, why don't you just come out of the 'Angel Closet' and say so? Or do get your rocks off insulting people you've never interacted with?

You must be a very angry, lonely person.

Rockford always had a soft spot for hard luck cases, which is why he often doesn't get paid. And Angel is a testament to hard luck cases.
I always thought Angel was a great part of the show, although his involvement in "The Hawaiian Headache" was just a token appearance (to get all of the regulars - except James Luisi - out to Hawaii).

reply

If I ever ran into one of my old Army guys,I'd have a soft spot for him, even if I didn't really like him. And Rockford served time with Angel, so that ups the ante. It's weird, you just have to be there.

Angel and Rockford were in the army together? I wasn't aware of that. I'm

reply

Whoops! I was in the army, Rockford and Angel we're prison, so they will probably have a stronger bond as convicts than me with my fellow ex-soldiers. That's why Jim puts up with Angel, a common bond that they shared that most people don't know about. Like Vietnam vets or plane crash survivors. Did I do a better job explaining myself this time.

reply

I see.
Angel did spend time in Leavenworth for desertion. Rockford probably learned that in prison.

reply

I didn't know that. Jim probably had an overload of pity for Angel and could never get past feeling sorry for him. Figured keep helping him and maybe he'll shape up, just a little.

Also, Rockford would never let a friend down.

reply

That is true. With all of Rockford"s faults, he was always honorable.

reply

Even though law-wise he once admitted "On my best day I'm borderline".

Fletch that was so important you had to say it twice. I think Rockford respected law well enough, I just think he didn't hold the same value to those who enforce it. Except Dennis of course.

reply

I honestly don't know how it posted a second time and my IPhone wouldn't allow me to cancel it.

reply

I agree with you 1000%. He is the biggest piece ofS hit! He always threw Jimmy under the bus. Plus he'd run away in a fight when Rockford needed help. What a waste!

reply

That's what made the character humorous. Not to mention Jim's reactions. It culminated on "A Material Difference".

reply

Does anyone know if MeTV is bringing Rockford files back??

reply

I think the closest I've seen Jim come to punching Angel was in the one where Angel was pretending to be a hitman and got mixed up with the Navy and Russian spies. I didn't see all of them, did he ever punch Angel in any of the post-series movies?

Annoying the world since 1960!

Angel is aF ucking piece ofS hit. I was hoping that someone would have taken him out
