AMAZING!

No one is discussing one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. I'm truly shocked.

This is a great show. Leonard Rossiter is unsurpassd in the role as Rigsby.
People talk about the overatted One Foot in The Grave but not Rising Damp!

What is going on?

I'm with you James !!!

A true classic currently repeated on ITV2 qute a bit absolutely brilliant and hilarious with Rossiter as the star.

I'm also agast at the lack of posts for The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin another timeless masterpiece of comedy..

Along with Fawlty Towers and Only Fools and Horses, Rising Damp is Britain's best sitcom. But give credit - One Foot In The Grave has moments of sheer comic genius as well and is probably the best original Brit sitcom of the 90's.

Absolutely briliant comedy. Rossiter was a genius. Sad to think of Beckinsdale dying so young. Interseting to see that both Don Warrington & Frances de la Tour are still busy in movies and TV afer all this time. I always thought that De La Tour would have a long acting career with her somewhat distinguished looks!! I dont know what Rigsby saw in her!!

Your not a Vic & Bob fan then!! They are ok if you fancy a bit of silliness sometimes but not in the same league as Leonard. I saw Warrington in an episode of Red Dwarf and last saw De La Tour in the latest Harry Potter movie.

I agree that Leonard Rossiter and Rising Damp (as well as his other roles) were great. One thing that would be held against it by todays TV Luvvies - the script of Rising Damp is very politically incorrect - particularly the racial interplay between Philip and Rigsby. (From his TV biography, it was a well known fact that, LR's views in real life were somewhat right wing!) This is not a problem for me but....

I agree with you entirely about Rising Damp. It was a brilliant series, one of the best ever sitcoms!

Man About The House was another favourite of mine.
