Rhoda's Theme Music

This may sound like a weird question, but I'll ask anyway...

About six years ago I was in The Howard Johnson's in Times Square, and they were playing some instrumental music (muzak). One of the tunes that caught my ear was Rhoda's theme song - though it had a more 'oriental' sound to it, if that makes sense. The song went on for about four or five minutes or so, and it was really nice and entertaining. My friend sitting with me (a big sitcom fan) also picked up that it was "Rhoda's theme"! We couldn't stop laughing, and were very intrigued.

I asked the waiter what CD or radio station we were listening to, but his English was 'spotty' and he had no idea what I was asking.

Does anyone know if this theme song was ever released as a full song, or if there's a way I can buy it on CD? What could it have been that I was listening to that night? (Definitley sounded like Rhoda's theme).

The only release of the theme song that I'm aware of is one of those "Televisions Greatest Themes" compilations.

The refrain of Yama Yama Man is very similar. Look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YdSRmGGT50 and skip to 0:46.
