So this guy Lenny who Brenda has been dating and who's proposed to her SIX times.......is her COUSIN?!!!! :O WTF?

Also, 1) why does Rhoda traipse around the building going from her apt to Brenda's wearing nothing but a nightgown and robe 2) WHY does Brena sleep w/her door unlocked? Rhoda & Ida go to her apt early on a Sunday morning and don't use keys......just opens the door and walks right in. 3) Why does Brenda have that bed in her living room right at the front door? 4) I notice that Lenny's mother is Mary's "Aunt Flo"

Because we weren't scared to death and had a more-free attitude decades ago--and now depending on what your own personality is like. We weren't as up-tight about every little thing like having a neighbor see you in a bathrobe while emptying the trash. If you can come in from the pooldeck to your apt, a bathrobe shouldn't be a problem.

Also, because of filming purposes.
Much easier to have actors enter the apt, then have the other actor walk to the door and ask who it is every time (I Love Lucy,etc.) Or an actor come from the other room every time somebody knocks at the door.

But what exactly does this have to do with being PC? SHe's talking about a woman dating her cousin and leaving the door open in her apartment.

I do find the cousin thing weird (They are third-cousins if that makes a difference to OP) but the rest is whatever IMHO, some unlocked doors and a bathrobe in the apartment buildning is no biggie and I don't get why Feng Shui in Brenda's apartment is so important either

Really? Incest is sexual activity between family members or close relatives. How in the hell is Lenny & Brenda's relationship, incestual? Brenda and Lenny are 3rd cousins! Next, it is implied that Lenny is simply there to fill the void for Brenda, when she doesn't have a "real" date, and it is implied that Lenny and Brenda, do not have sex!
Lastly, many 2nd and sometimes 1st cousins married for centuries, and well into the 19th century due to the fact that people did not often migrate or travel further than 20 miles beyond where they were born and raised. It was not easy to move beyond your birthplace, due to transportation.
