Do you think they would have made more Episodes if Richard Beckinsale...

hadn't passed away.

As we all know, he died just a few weeks after filming the Porridge movie, does anyone know if they were planning to make more episodes of Porridge/Going Straight.

Or was the the movie in 1979 always going to be the final outing?

Just something i've always wondered, what does everyone think?

No. Ronnie Barker had already decided not to do anymore after the third series even though the writers and the BBC wanted a fourth series (Clement and La frenais had even written some storylines for it). Its probable there would have been a second series of Going Straight but Beckinsale's death ended that.
