Yes. The really distinctive thing about Petrocelli was its breakthrough use of flashbacks. With the popularity of LOST in recent years, flashbacks are pretty much taken for granted, but at the time, now 35 plus years ago, Petrocelli had extensive flashbacks, and even what LOST would awkwardly term "flash sideways", in every episode to present to the viewer what actually happened, or might have happened. It was quite an innovation at the time.
