A Christmas They Never Forgot

As much as I enjoy this episode, I still can't help but roll my eyes at the ludicrousness of the ending. And even if you accept that they got snowed in, what was everyone so happy about? Food and water would've eventually become an issue, especially with so many people stuck in the house.

I guess there was plenty of lard in the barrel to stave off hunger.

Plus they could easily melt the snow for fresh water.

I always thought the bigger concern was how they would all answer those inevitable morning nature calls, especially after drinking all that coffee the night before.

If the snow is 10 feet deep, there are plenty of places to piss and dump outside!

They probably had some kind of bucket or something inside the house that was pushed into the corner. They may have gotten it from the barn when they saw the weather getting bad. Even if they weren't snowed in, it would be difficult to see to get to the outhouse. As to the smell, people back then would have been used to that so it wouldn't have bothered them like it would us today.

...or they could've just gone all Donner Party if the food situation got too dire, i.e. "Soylent Green is made out of PEOPLE!"😉😅

if i had 10 feet of snow out my house i wouldnt be inside laughing and telling old stories

I WOULD BE FREAKING OUT!
