I see some of the UK criminal series, i.e. Morse and Frost, have been released on DVD with all episodes. I wonder if anybody knows whether something similar is planned with Derrick. I know there are 10 episodes or so already on DVD, but I would like to see more, much more.

'Inspektor Rex' is the cheesy circus of attempting to make a viennese case revolve around a bloody dog. Always a strain for the scriptwriters.
by contrast, Derrick is quality. It is the German 'Columbo' of its generation, and so deeply, solidly middle class German in its approach to wrongdoing that it as much a 'krimi' or crime series as much as a national psychological or cultural study.

He was a great age and an intriguing actor and our family loved this quirky original series very much.

Hopefully there will be a DVD release of all the 281 episodes in his memory..the most gigantic box set ever..lol..it's good to dream I guess. :)
