Is this ever shown on British tv?
Is this ever shown on any channel I can pick up in the UK?

I'm afraid not. ITV bought a series but canned it after it was judged to be too intellectually demanding for the average British audience.
shareI seem to remember ITV (Thames?) only showing it in the middle of the night - in the early years of all-night TV - so they could hardly have complained about thin ratings.
I'd happily take another look, given the opportunity, but recall that it seemed rather flat compared to successful contemporary British series like Morse, Wexford, Sherlock Holmes or the PD James adaptations. All those, by the way, were ITV productions so perhaps we were spoilt rather than intellectually overstretched.
