Thank you. That was much needed. This film is not as bad as many make out.

I of course really enjoyed it, but it is generally accredited with the start of Demy's descent into poor direction. Though I think that is unfair. Can I ask what made you watch this film? Thanks

Yeh I got into Demy for the same reason, then started loving his film independantly. Umbrellas is his masterpiece IMO, Young Girls of Rochefort is fun and lively, and its both good and sad to see Francoise Dorleac and Catherine Deneuve in a film together, one of her last of course. Donkey Skin is brilliant, and of course, a Slightly Pregnant man. Have you seen Lola? No Deneuve Im affraid, but a brilliant French New Wave film.

No I dont rent, I buy - just dont like renting, I like building up my collection. I bought it from Amazon (marketplace) for like £7 or something like that. It has Roland Cassard from Umbrellas of Cherbourg (same actor, same character - and its referrenced in Umbrellas) with the same music that accompanies him. Legrand was a genius IMO

LOL nope, just one that plows all their money into their films and nothing else. I envy you, I want the discount etc of a DVD shop.
