Soundtrack question...

Does anybody know the name of the "crocodile" song that was being sung in the bar?

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

The song is called "In der Bar zum Krokodil" and was made famous by the Comedian Harmonists. It is readily available on CD.

Thank you very much ... I was watching a Rifftrax version of a movie and they mentioned "Snappy Der Kleine Krokodil" which I knew wasn't the same song...and it made me wonder...I have "Tenderness of the Wolves" but I don't remember them showing the songs in the credits...but Danke Schoen...

Gern geschehen. "Snappy das kleine Krokodil" really has nothing to do with this. "In der Bar zum Krokodil" is a song with risque lyrics, much like "Mein kleiner grüner Kaktus", also by the Comedian Harmonists - at least one of whom was gay .

I thought the song was originally from the 1930s burlesque era....

The Comedian Harmonists were active in the early 1930s, so you are correct. As for "Schnappi das kleine Krokodil" (have to get that spelled correctly), that song originated from a German children's TV series in 2001. Thanks for making me aware of Rifftrax, I didn't know about it at all.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE RIFFTRAX!!!!!!!!!!
If you liked MST3K you will LOVE Rifftrax...oh and Cinematic Titanic is also very good...
Ummm....how old is that guy when I looked up Comedian Harmonists...he looks no more than 30 or 40...unless it's VERY old footage...I am soooo confused now.
NOTE: I watched the video on YOUTUBE.

I don't know what video you watched, but the members of the Harmonists were in their early 30s at the height of their success. The last surviving member died a few years ago. You may have seen a clip from the "Comedian Harmonists" film http://farm.imdb.com/title/tt0128133/. Real historical footage can be seen in a German TV documentary http://farm.imdb.com/title/tt0276023/ which is available on DVD http://www.amazon.de/Das-Allerbeste-Bild-Ton-DVD/dp/B0000CDNT7/.
