When the Eternals would vote on what should be done with those who had committed "thought crimes" and when they all ganged up on Friend and aged him. Those scenes reminded me a lot of the way people are "shamed" for Twitter and Facebook posts and ganged up on for anti-PC "thought crimes" today.

I was thinking more in terms of the technology, hilariously. The crystal, Tabernacle, is basically the Internet but actually less useful (does this make the Internet God? It is omnipresent and omnipotent just as Tabernacle is). Also the crystal rings with the holographic screens being a constant tether to Tabernacle.
