Wait... it's a musical???

It is!

That was unexpected! For some reason I haven't seen this fabulous movie until now, and I was expecting a weird horror drama like the remake or "Midsommar". But there's a bunch of musical numbers and Christopoher Lee in drag! Awesome!

Ha ha - Enjoy!

And good luck getting the maypole song out of your head any time soon...

Doesn't the music make you wanna get up and... jump over a fire naked, hoping you'll be impregnated by a God???

Doesn't it???

I really love the school house scene where Howie forcefully confronts the children and their instructor about Rowan Morrison. I believe the maypole scene was going on outside of there.

You are correct, sir! What a original and wonderful little movie it is, proof that originality and chutzpah is more important in filmmaking than a big budget!

And putting Christopher Lee in drag, of course.

I’ve read in an interview that Christopher Lee said Lord Summerisle was his most favorite role.

How often does an actor get to berate his inferiors in bad drag, while planning a horrific sacrificial murder??? He must have enjoyed the hell out of that role, even if it meand a godawful blond-ish wig that didn't match his sideburns.

Seriously, the theme of Horrible Pagan Sacrifice has been done many times, but nobody ever had as much fun with the idea as in the original "Wicker Man".
