Women and the po-lice

One of the greatest lines from this movie is mentioned in the quotes here but not in full!

Burt: only scared of two things in this world

Sheriff: only scared of two things, what's that?

Burt: Women and the po-lice

Sheriff: Hmm, women and the po-lice........I bet you try to hump 'em both!

Also shortly after that scene, Bo Hopkins pulls up in his car and asks Gator if he's ready, and Gator says, "I was born ready".

I do believe Burt Reynolds at that point gave birth to an oftentimes, overused line. It was the first time I had ever heard anyone say that, and coming from him, in that circumstance, it was quite awesome.

It was used way back in John Wayne's "Hondo" (1953), albeit not by Wayne. The line struck me because I thought it would've been anachronistic for the Old West, but I suppose not.
