reply

I don't know about the whole soundtrack, but I was wandering if any of you might happen to know the last song in the movie. I believe it was something like "way down under" or something. I thought it might have been Jim Croce, but I can't find anything to do with this song at all. If any of you happen to know please let me know.

reply

yeah, i've been after the name and artist(s) of this song for ages now too!

so if you you find out before me?...let me know, okay?

Kill Bill Soundtrack, No. 12 Crane White Lightning on limewire is the part in the movie when Gator tries to walk out on prison in the beginning of the film when he finds out about his brother dying, the intense sounding violin no lyrics part, pretty short though.

Good news soundtrack just released on Intrada label, only 1000 available, the song you mention is on the CD.

I suspect that the song at the end was written for the film. (I'm guessing the title is "Way Down Under"). It has a clear beginning and end and lasts only a minute and nineteen seconds in the film. It may not have been commercially released, which might explain why there is no information about the song in the closing credits.

Here are the song's lyrics for anyone interested:

Way down under
Way down under
There’s a place where every man finds his brother
Way down under

At the back door of hell
There’s an old rusty bell
And it rings [bell rings], it rings [bell rings], Lord it rings [bell rings] with the sound of thunder
Way down under

Insert Burt Reynolds: "Damn. The Good, they die young."

Way down under
Well, I wonder
In the end, you need a friend, or a brother
Way down under

Way down deep in your soul.

I would start by renting the DVD, and freezing it at the credits, when they list the tunes. Many of those tunes were probably independently released.

Yeah same here. Anyone else ever have any luck about the music for this movie? I'm dying to find the song that is played as the movie ends. I caught this movie on Starz and was gonna wait for the credits to role and look for the song there but they cut it off and didn't show credits!

reply

I was actually more interested in the song at the very beginning (when the kids were sent to the bottom in the boat). I wanted to know who was playing that resonator...man, it sounded good.

The Main Title is now on QT's Inglorious Basterds Soundtrack.

According to an interview I saw, Tarantino claims that a soundtrack was never released for White Lightning and that he gets his WL music straight from Charles Bernstein. But yeah, the main theme is on the Inglourious Basterd's ST and a few other clips are in Kill Bill.
So, you're either gonna have to gleam what you can from Tarantino or call up the studio for the originals...

I guess the only thing to do is record it right from the film. Have a low trebble, equalized bass. So you can hear the voices, and it should sound ok.
