Saw in Theater!

I saw Roman Polanski's WHAT? first-run in a theater! Beautiful to look at on the big screen.

It is wild, weird, absurd, confusing, sexy and funny. Also completely insane.

You're thinking, "What the hell is this?", but you're compelled to go with it. It's one of a kind.

Not Polanski's best comedy (that would be The Fearless Vampire Killers, not to be missed), but one of his most creative films.

If and when WHAT? comes out on DVD in the U.S., try it as a double-bill with that other psychedelic "Alice in Wonderland" sex satire CANDY (1968) for an unforgettable Mind-Blowing Experience.

Yeah, well, it takes a lotta nerve to ask people to pay money to see a film that doesn´t take place. That isn´t interested in any manner of communication nor does it offer anything that could conceivably qualify as entertainment for anyone that isn´t completely wasted on a wicked combination of psychoactive substances - it´s just 110 minutes of loitering. No better than any given footage resulting from any given schlob aimlessly walking around the house and shooting whatever happens to be in the way. Why was this thing made - and more puzzlingly, released? How was someone like Mastroianni convinced to participate in this huge cinematic nothing? Did he and Polanski along with the rest of the cast & crew really go insane? Why would a filmmaker of such stature try so hard to put together something completely, utterly worthless and idiotic? Questions never cease. Next up for Polanski: Chinatown! The way it goes...

Creative film, does the OP say? What´s it create? The art of wandering around half-naked? Acting like a madman? No, those had been done before. But that is all that happens; can´t help but feel there´s just a tiny step left to be taken from this to the legendary movie named "Ass" in Idiocracy. Which shows an ass and an ass is all it shows.

In short CHE? is undoubtedly one of the very worst films I´ve ever seen; one of only 4 that I´ve given a 1/10 rating.
