FAR superior to that pretentious TV show

Stick with this great film and ignore that HBO monstrosity.

Of course the remake is pretentious. That's the trend nowadays: Take a smart, clever idea that was intended mainly to be escapist entertainment and dress it up with all the gravity, solemnity and "importance" of an Arthur Miller play.

Hell, we've even got our superheroes acting like they're in a Tolstoy novel.

It is truly nuts.

So yeah, the original WESTWORLD is clever and fun while the remake is a joyless slog.

How dare a TV series try to grapple with such silly pretentious nonsense like the nature of consciousness or what truly makes a human human. The nerve!

Not even you know what you said

True dat.

It's all about what you're looking for. Westworld the movie is a variation of Frankenstein: Science/Technology creates a near human being but it is flawed, and chases after humans.

I enjoyed the HBO adaptation. Why do humans create such things? Good purposes or bad purposes? How do the creatures react and why?

The series did go too far up into its own ass but it had some good moments.
They had to fill 10 hours of content with a basic idea from a 85 minutes long movie, what did you expect?

reply

I like the movie but the TV show was disappointing as hell

reply

I have always liked the movie and I watched the first season of the newer TV show. But the constant "killing" ruined it for me. I got sick of it.

reply

I love this movie. I remember seeing it when it was first released.

The series is pretty good too in my opinion!

There is room for both.

reply

Definitely
