Streisand, what a clothes horse (spoilers)

Saw this film when it first came out more than forty years ago, and seeing it today, absolutely does NOT hold up. Redford has always been a terrible actor, good looking to some, but utterly unbelievable as an actor. He shows no more depth in the movie, than he did in those very early Twilight Zone episodes, around 1960. It goes to show you that anyone can become a 'star' if they have the looks and the timing is right, but it does not make him a good actor. Fortunately Redford got into directing, something to do while his looks have inevitably gone to hell.

Then there's Streisand, what can be said? Way too well coiffed and it was a distraction. Notice in the scene where they protest in Washington D.C. Streisand has on some absurd hairnet, burgundy colored. Maybe it was in fashion back in the day, but it looks ridiculous, Streisand's way of drawing attention to herself. (The hairnet anticipates Streisand's nails in the Prince of Tides that would come out years later.)

I guess Redford never had to pay child support for little Rachel whom he walked out on shortly after her birth. Babs didn't seem to care, and did not even know what Redford had been doing (writing for TV). Hopefully she married somebody rich the second time around, who can indulge her and her big nose which she cannot keep out of everybody's business (ban the bomb!).
