Proud of Rutger

I´m proud of Rutger but I hate Turkish Delight (Turks Fruit).
There are so many good Dutch movies but this ain´t one of them.

Oddly enough, I never realized how amazing Rutger was until I saw this film. I always though that he was a really good actor but this film really proved his talent. This will always be the Rutger that I think of. I guess this film really just moved me in a number of ways.

thats not true. Dutch cinema sucks. love Hauer/verhoeven, hate dutch movies.

Turks Fruit is the best Dutch movie ever made. It's most other Dutch movies that suck.

Like yourself.

Oh come on! There are lots of good Dutch movies out there, and not only Verhoeven's films. One thing I can't stand about the Dutch is that they have big issues appreciating their own cultural heritage. Sure, there are some horrible Dutch movies, and some of the worst movies I've ever seen were Dutch, but that doesn't mean that we can't make any good movies. It's true that the majority of Dutch movies made in the eighties and nineties were quite horrible (De Zeemeerman, De Gulle Minnaar, etc.), but the last couple of years the quality is rising. Most Dutch movies coming out these days are actually quite good.
