An amazing movie

Just wanted to say how wonderful this movie is. Powerful. But what's up with the rating, a 7.1?

Are all Dutch movies like "Turks Fruit"? Any recommendations???

My God, I want to marry a Dutch girl!!!

Thanks for being different, clockies :)

"Phileine zegt sorry" reminds me of this movie. Although it really has little to do with that. Both movies are about the stuff young people have to deal with: the future of (their) life.

But they both have this... ADHD-touch. The touch of hyperactive actors, storyline. You can guess what'll happen, but it all goes pretty fast though not "Hollywood-action". Both also got their humor, and so-called 'unfortunate moments'.

Personally i like this style, as in it has its place, but i'm pretty uhm -crazy- after such movie. And 'Phileine zegt sorry' was a bit disturbing because of the main actress (Kim van Kooten).

And no not all Dutch girls (or men) are like that :P but the whole movie shows some elements of the (70 / 80s) generation of the Netherlands and the Dutch. I'm not so sure the movie still reflects these elements as of 2004, i think its debatable in which extend, but yes...

I've been loving too much, caring too little -- TormentoR.

Check out "Spetters" by the same director and also starring Rutger Hauer. A great story about power (and how it is used), and about self-improvement.

It's a completely different type of movie (but does have a very loveable leading actress and a tight emotional punch), but Spoorloos is absolutely brilliant. Spoorloos is one of my favourite movies of all time, and it has a nostalgic feel to it too of course, and naturalism, poetry, extremes of psychology and emotion, twists, turns, interesting facial hair, a Dutch guy beating the crap out of a French guy - whats not to like?

Watch Spoorloos, now, I'm sure you'll really dig it :)

edit: I should add that the similarity is that it too is Dutch (but mainly set in France)

A golden egg, floating through space.
