Misleading title

This is the first time I saw this film so I was thinking it had to do with a gang
that went around robbing trains.

Looks like I was wrong.

Anyway D U L L

It is not misleading, because at the end when the group finds they have been duped, they decide to go rob the train. It's a great title, kind of tongue-in-cheek, and a good movie.

Yes, robbing the train offscreen when the credits are over

Yeah big deal well I still feel we were wait for it:

Misleading title

I know what you mean, but the title is applicable in three ways: (1.) Mr. Lowe robbed a train of $500,000 in gold before the movie begins, (2.) Lane (Wayne) & his team "rob" the abandoned train in the desert, and (3.) when Lane & his gang go chase the train at the end to get their $50,000 back after finding out the truth about "Mrs. Lowe." Land even says, "I've got a train to rob!" (paraphrasing)

As far as it being "D U L L", it's far from great and filled with contrivances and questionable dialogues, but I've seen way worse Westerns. (The overrated "The Searchers" comes to mind). If a person likes authentic Western vistas, notable Western music (reminiscent of "How the West was Won"), a notable cast (including cutie Ann-Margret) and desert adventure marked by a long chase with numerous camping-out scene (which I'm a sucker for), not to mention a quality surprise ending, you can't go wrong with "The Train Robbers."
