I bought polaroid at 7!

Ha!

This joke is out of date. Polaroid is finished as they didn't see the advent of digital photography.

The joke isn't out of date, the investment is.

Polaroid was awesome though. You take a picture and... voila! With digital photography, you still have to transfer the pictures to your computer and print them.

Polaroid is still around and they sell digital photography equipment.

They also do some of the best digital art reproduction in the world.

Polaroid went bankrupt about 10 years before that post. The Polaroid that was "still selling digital photography equipment" at the time was some little company nobody had ever heard of who'd bought the bankrupt Polaroid for pennies on the dollar just so they could use their established brand name.

I think he recycles this same joke -- in different form -- in "Play it Again, Sam." The Tony Roberts character says something like, "Me -- who had the foresight to buy Polaroid at 7." Or whatever.

I think even by the late 1970s that joke was kind of outdated. It refers to one of those crazy overvaluations and stock spikes that happened with Polaroid in the late 1960s, I believe.

I too used to own a Polaroid camera. I don't think I was as young as seven.

I'll let you know when I come-up with a new signature, .

Native New Yorkers start playing the market at a much younger age than those of us in the rest of the country, lol.
