Awful

I just finished watching this, and I thought it was a horrendous and lame Hitchcock rip-off. For one, Margot Kidder's attempt at a French Canadian accent is laughably bad. The plot twists are implausible, and the "shocking" ending is trite and predictable from the first ten minutes of this mess. Overall, it's just a waste of time. Go watch a Hitchcock film instead, not this cheap and laughably bad imitation, 2/10.

Kidder IS French Canadian.

While she IS Canadian, she is NOT *French* Canadian. Her French is not convincing for someone who is french speaking like me. That's the thing that a bit distracting in the film.

Are you sure? According to IMDb trivia, she is - although, of course, this wouldn´t be the first time for it to provide false/unconfirmed information - and isn´t Margot also more like a French forename? But I guess you probably know what you´re talking about...

According to our friends at Wikipedia, Margot Kidder was born in Yellowknife (Northwest Territories), Canada. Her parents are Jill Wilson and Kendall Kidder. Doesn't sound French Canadian to me.

Well I guess I was wrong then. At any rate, she´s really good here as well as in Black Christmas where she gets to be perpetually drunk & up to no good (dial "fellatio", sir) - these roles imo suit her off-beat, mischievious qualities much better than the plain good gal performances in stuff like Superman. And I like her French accent in Sisters, too, regardless how "authentic" or "inauthentic" it might be. Such a clever, fun movie.

I am from
French Canadian ancestry and my ex is from European (Paris) ancestry. We both thought she is French Canadian playing the part as if she is European French.
