When Collier FIRST talks to the cops. **SPOILER**

It TRULY bugs me when the cops initially arrive at the apartment and Grace meets them by telling them that she "actually saw the murder happen". HOW CAN THAT BE??? The stabbing took place way inside the living area of the apartment. From what WE know of her knowledge of the event, wasn't until AFTER he was attacked and was writing help on the window. She was sitting at her typewriter and saw his arm in the window. If she'd witnessed the entire incident, she wouldn't still have been sitting there watching him. She'd have already made the call to the cops.

To me, that seems like a glaring lie.

I agree-I never understood how Grace would be able to tell that the killer's face was twisted, had stringy hair and was having some kind of fit, as she described from her view. Like you mentioned, wouldn't she had immediately called the police then, and not wait for the man to crawl to the window-that scene up until he got to the window was pretty lengthy. The scene with the police also bothered me because Grace was being so nosy and anxious to catch Danielle in a lie, she screwed up several opportunities to get her caught up (such as dropping the cake, sitting right on the body in the couch, etc).

Also, I know it's all a movie but how can Danielle's hair go from nice to stringy then back nice again, since we learned that there was only one person all along? LOL. Overall though, I like Brian De Palma movies-they always kind of freaked me out as a kid and today I am still intrigued.

I agree too, when she was sitting on her desk by the window I dont recall her being able to see the entire apartment and the murder took place in the living room. Maybe she has a very good sight and she was in shock and didnt call the police right away.

Perhaps Grace saw the remake. *wink*

wasn't her apartmetn one floor up, so, i think by her sitting at her desk, she could have seen it.

I'd have to watch it again to see.

She is exaggerating. Clearly. Imagining. I think it was an obvious choice for Brian in order to substantiate the police's distrustfulness in her.

That's the one hint on the entire movie where we know that Grace is actually Dominique.

This is not a signature!

I just saw Sisters for the first time.

One thing that bugged me right away was the scene right after she talks with the cops. She's downstairs at Danielle's apartment and bumps into her mom. While watching I immediately thought: Wait why is she going back up to change? Her apartment is across the street.

But now reading this thread I think this is an intentional "mistake". That is, this is a clue that Grace did in fact make up the whole murder. The scenes when she is working and we're seeing the murder from her point of view across the street is completely in her mind.

I haven't read much of the other threads on this forum. So don't know if this is the widely accepted take on the movie. Or, maybe it's just me?

The murder is not "in her head". She actually saw the murder take place.

Grace is not Dominique.

Yes. Grace is Dominique. After her memories were removed, behavior modified, and she had plastic surgery to entirely change her face. I know you're going with the planted memories scene and thinking it's an actual memory, but please think, how could Margot Kidder's siamese twin (which would have to be identical) look like Margot Kidder in the documentary footage, but then look like Jennifer Salt in the planted memory scene? And why would Grace's mother be taking pictures there (even wearing the same clothes she was wearing in the earlier scene)? And why would the investigator Grace hired be in the operating room?

You can see the couch from her window (when Charles Durning's character is in the apartment), so it's possible she saw bits and pieces of the murder. Different angles, different views.
