I TOLD MARY...

For what it's worth, i met the SUBLIME Mary Woronov a couple years ago at a Warhol anniversary party at the Gershwin Hotel in NYC & had her sign a couple of her books (including SWIMMING UNDERGROUND which is excellent). I TOLD HER that i LOVE her movie Silent Night Bloody Night, half-expecting her to dampen my enthusiasm but guess what? She said she loves it too!
I am very happy to see proof on this board that this underrated film has a bona-fide cult audience & growing. I watch it at least once every year, late at night, with all the lights off, to recreate the first time i saw it, back in the 70s late nite TV show. It creeped the heck out of me & still does.

How I would love to meet Mary Woronov. There's something about ... that woman! She's turned in scores of unforgettable performances in films of various budgets and qualities, and she always shines.

What was she like in person? I take it she appreciates her fans and loves to "talk shop" with them.

Thank you for relaying this story. Given how obviously brilliant Woronov is, and that is easily missed due to her stunning looks, I'm not surprised she is aware of what a treasure this film is.

Now to some hungry DVD distributor out there: give this brilliant film the attention it deserves, and have a freaking commentary that includes Woronov's insights.

Great story. I think I may make it a tradition to watch this every year around Christmastime.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.
