The answer to James Bond...

I guess this is where Shaft got the reputation as the African-American answer to James Bond, even though he says in the film, "Look man, I'm not James Bond. Strictly, Sam Spade."

Still, it would have been cool to see the 2000 sequel live up to that reputation...(still, this entry is worth it, IMO--and Roundtree seemed more sexier...as are the women)...

Too bad there wasn't a fourth film...

Actually, it would be interesting to finally see a black character like Bond or even Dirty Harry. Roundtree proved it could work (he's a hell of a Sam Spade :). And I don't mean black as in "black actor", I mean black as in "Black culture related". Something like this.
