Why did Kalish send the guy, with the beat up cop in the trunk, to the car wash?
Just to show off to the kidnappers that he had one of them (or so he thought)?
How stupid can you be? What exactly was he hoping to get out of the situation? And how did the kidnappers know that the car was coming? Unless

You are right it was sloppy, but when Kaldish caught one of the seven-ups men with a wire, he thought that it was a rouge cop unit who was doing the kidnapping. The second meeting at the car wash was to negoiate for the bail bondsmen that was kidnapped earlier (this second meeting at the same car wash was was never told to the audience, thus the confusion) Kaldish wanted the kidnapper to know that he knew who they were (in which he was wrong)
I think that's correct.
I just finished watching it for the umteenth time.
The ransom drop for Festa (bail bondsman) was at the car wash again, which of course would be foolish.
The car wash is where the kidnappers make their move.
With the first car, since it was a Lincoln with the old suicide doors, they were able to cuff the doors and breach the trunk in the car wash.
The second time, since they couldn't do that do the car design, they used their guy in the garage across the street to get them out of the way.
That is a bit of a plot hole, because you would think that realistically the mob guys would put some pressure on the car wash schlubs.
