Bill Hickman is GOD!

when you realise that this man has been the driver in the Three major car chases of all times, the Fast and the furious pales in comparison! Too bad he's dead.

reply

Bill Hickman was also in the follow-up car to James Dean when Dean fatally crashed in his Porsche in 1955.

reply

Besides being an ace stunt driver, Bill Hickman was also a real solid actor; he does a good job projecting a genuinely unnerving sense of silent brooding menace as coldblooded criminal Bo.

Look nonchalant and keep on smiling.

Reviving a long dead thread, wish I could do the same for Bill. He was also the stunt diector for the original Vanishing Point, was in Hickey and Boggs, and played Patton's driver in Patton. His chase scenes were realistic as opposed to Hal Needham, very talented, but well the black Trans Am never gets dirty, much less scratched.

reply

While watching this tonight, I had a vague recollection that he was involved in Vamishing Point.

He truly was the best when it came to realistic car chases.

reply

How can you take any of these car chases seriously after seeing the Fast and Furious movies

reply

Do you mean the other way around?

reply

No. The car chase scenes with Bill Hickman are entertaining but the Fast and Furious movies blow those car chase scenes away. All modern films have better chase scenes because of technology

reply

So you prefer fake, CGI enhanced car chases with no element of realism to them, than the realistic, gritty car chases of old?

I think youre trolling.

reply

What is trolling?
