The first.

I thought the first was better because it was funnier. This is not horror. It's stupid. So stupid it's funny to laugh at.

I agree that Blacula was more scarier and better than Scream Blacula Scream.

The first one's generally are better...but the second had an interesting story. I enjoyed it and would look at it again.

It was pretty neat...voodoo...Pam Grier. My only issue with her character was that she was not the kick-ass Pam Grier...but it was good, at least back then. :-)

You ought to rent it if it's avaiulable in your area.

William Marshall was a great actor in Blacula and I will see if Amazon or CD Universe has Scream Blacula Scream on DVD.I like old horror movies from the 70s and 80s.

Me too...even if they are cheesy, there was a certain 'something' about them. I was a child of the 70's, so I guess that's why I love them so much. I still snicker whenever I remember that William Marshall was the King of Cartoons on Pee Wee's Playhouse...that was really cool.

Sad to see that William Marshall died only a few years ago. His voice was like James Earl Jones': one that you enjoy listening to and you can't forget. That said, it bugged me for years that I knew that voice from somewhere other than Blacula and it turned out to be one of my favorite Star Trek episodes: The Ultimate Computer. He was Dr. Richard Daystrom.
I like both Blaculas but for different reasons. The first one sets him up as a tragic figure. After all, he was abducted and "enslaved" by Count Dracula. The second is more conventional but more interesting by adding the voodoo aspect to it aside from seeing Coffy vs Blacula. I was surprised by the high body count. In SBS I think there are 5 murders alone on his 1st night out. Still, darn good entertainment that elevates it above the usual blaxploitation dreck that came out in those days.
Good to see Marshall had a helluva career. You are missed.

I acutally like this better than Blacula. Blacula was cringe worthy at tims to me. f

I will agree that this wasn't as good as the first film.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

I liked them both. I loved the cops going through the house with the vampires killing some of them and some of the cops killing the vampires. The voodoo stuff was neat too- a unique way to resurrect a vampire and an interesting way to deal with one. William Marshall was great in both these films.
