Unlike the first one, this is an actual horror movie

Blacula was more Blaxploitation than horror. It was Dolemite with fangs, Three the Hard Way with a cape. SBS however, is a real horror film. It was shot like a horror film; the great usage of darkness and shadow, the way it builds tension before a scare, the way the music is tense and eerie during the scares. The first one doesn't really have any of that. It's more camp, cheese, and jive than scary, eerie, and tense.

And the movie is better for it. So Scream Blacula Scream, well done.
