Someone on these boards asked what actor playing a villain that you couldn't separate from the character - every time you see him/her, it takes you back to their villainous role - here are some of mine:

Ron Eldard AND Jennifer Jason Leigh - Bastard Out of Carolina
Robert Mitchum - Night of the Hunter
Sean Penn - Casualties of War
Dale Midkiff - A Cry for Help: The Tracy Thurman Story
Paul LeMat - The Burning Bed

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is David Morrissey.

In a way De Niro as he has played a sociopath so many times that he makes me uncomfortable regardless if it's a comedy.
