Biblical Symbols in the Movie

Okay, I watched this a long time ago. But I remember a topic which explains some of the biblical (mostly focused on the life of jesus) symbols. Like the scarecrow actually resembles a crucifix, how Lion first appeared under a tree (resembling the birth of jesus) or how the last scene resembles a baptism. It was very interesting to read. Because it has remained obscure. Nothing on the trivia section and couldnt see a topic about it. So is there anyone who can contribute to this theory or have a link explaining it? Im not a religiious person and I don't live among a christian society. But i would like to read about it. Love this movie for some reason I just can't explain.

How does a lion being under a tree have anything to do with the birth of Jesus?

reply

No, the main character's name is Lion. He is first seen in the movie under a tree. And if I remember correctly, Jesus was born (or found?) under a tree.

reply

No, he was born in a manger in a stable.

there's discussion of baptism symbolism under the thread about the fountain.

I found much of the same symbolism in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
