Silver bullets are impractical?

This is what Van Helsing tells Inspector Murray in Dracula AD 1972.

But here he is doing exactly that. And what happens? Silver bullets prove to be impratical.

Is Lorimer going senile?

Good point about Dracula AD 1972 - however by this point they kept thinking up new methods of killing Dracula with every film and this was just another suggestion - in 'Dracula AD 1972' Van Helsing did say silver but 'Especially a silver bladed knife' (and therefore falsely convincing viewers that was how he would be destroyed at the end of that film). What gets me though is why Van Helsing told him!! After Dracula says 'Bullets can't hurt me' you'd have thought Van Helsing would have just said something along the lines of 'Well this won't hurt then!'.
Nitpicking aside this is one of the best Hammer Draculas after the 1958 version and 'Taste the Blood of Dracula'

Yes, you're right. It's a bit of a James Bond moment.

"Mister Bond, here is my stolen super-deluxe laser system targeted at Washington and if that arrow goes above a hundred, the system will overload and destruct. I wanted you to see my final triumph before you die....."

What bothered me was, WHY did Van Helsing only make one silver bullet? He had silver left over from the melted silver cross, why not make as many as he could? In fact, why not get more silver and make a bunch of silver bullets? If I were going to do battle with Dracula, I would have more than one silver bullet in my gun, my pockets would be absolutely clanking with them. And once I had a bead on him, I would not stand and talk to him and waste time.

Push the button, Max!

This was the worst Dracula imo...worse than "AD 1972" :(

melting silver croses is a blasphemy and an helsing is as bad as dracula in gods eyes now because there are no degrees of sins.

Does silver even work?

That's from Satanic Rites Of Dracula, in the scene where Cushing goes to the high-rise office complex and confronts Dracula.

Only if Dracula is a werewolf.

Both Werewolves and Vampires are Lycanthropes so both can be destroyed by a silver bullet!
