Terribly underrated...

I enjoyed the modern spin of the Dracula tale away from the Bram Stoker story that has been done to death in these movies. I got a kick out of that 1970s London era with the cowskin jackets & boots! This is also the only Hammer sequel since "Horror of Dracula" to reunite Lee & Cushing in a Dracula film - 7 out of 10 stars...

I agree! I first saw this after buying one of those '20 movies for $5' DVD sets (which should you really tell you how underrated this movie is).. Satanic Rites was easily the best movie out of all of them. This is actually my favorite Hammer movie, from the way it was shot, the locations, actors and even just the way they captured early 70s London

or maybe not, lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAkyqtoZTzQ

Yes, it is a very good movie. I enjoyed it very much, although I can see why others wouldn't. But I don't care what others think, I enjoyed this movie.

It is not the only sequel to reunite Lee and Cushing in a Dracula film - DRACULA A.D. 1972 (the immediate sequel prior to THE SATANTIC RITES OF DRACULA) does the same.

But I agree with your point that it was good to see Dracula transposed to the 1970s time period.
