Kidnapping the secretary...

About halfway through the movie, the secretary/assistant from the intelligence service leaves the office for the day...and these guys on motorbikes follow and presumably kidnap her, since she ends up back at Pelham House.

1. How did they even know who she was ? She spent all her time in the office. How would they know she worked for MI-6 and how would they know she had anything to do with the investigation into Pelham house ?

2. The men were on motorbikes. (Nice furry vests, by the way) If they were on motorcycles and they knocked her unconscious, how the hell did they transport her from a busy london street back to Pelham House, out in the country ?

3. The motorcyclists/guards are revealed to be vampires, as they are shot numerous times and they 're-generate' and heal instantly. How the heck are they out in the daylight ?

2. I'd assume they used her white MK1 Mini (which going by the interior paint colour was originally red) to transport her back? Or they had a back-up van waiting not too far away? Perhaps they had walkie-talkies?

I don't know about the others and anyway every time I watch that chase scene where she's cornered, I just wish she hadn't wimped out and stuck her Mini into 1st gear and rammed them off their bikes.

Or at least tried to get the hell out of there, even if they did continue to chase her. I mean for God sake, hadn't she seen 'The Italian Job'? (Okay she had a humble little Mini 850cc, where as Michael Caine's gang had giant killing Mini Cooper S's).

Plus why didn't she head for the nearest police station instead of some back alley?

Okay it's only a film, but I'd have rammed those bikes up their big ends if they'd damaged my Mini.

The bikers weren't vampires. They were human servants.

reply

Yes, human servants. It reminds me of Mr. Straker from Salem's Lot, played by James Mason. He was the servant to the Vampire, Mr. Barlow, and he was revealed to have super-human strength and was somewhat resilient to gunshots, though ultimately not impervious.

reply

Well I'm sure she could have crushed their heads if she'd run over them with her Mini.

Much like in this other classic 1970's horror flick: -

Yes, but if she had done that she wouldn't have been turn into a vampire and shown her breasts

Not only does everything like that happen as told above, but the underlings tear away her blouse, rip off her stockings/pantyhose and leave her barefoot and shivering in a small room waiting for Dracula to get her (although I must admit, as a foot fetishist, the scene does turn me on.)

BINGO!

or maybe not, lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAkyqtoZTzQ

It was quite possible that being the secretary at MI6 was a coicidence, as she was probably picked up like a "random woman victim".

We know one of Drac's disciples as a bigwig in the government so he probably tipped them off. Why didn't she get away? Because that way we wouldn't have had Hammer's ultimate Gothic rape fantasy?
