Anyone else noticed that Dracula's accent changed throughout the movie? In the first confrontation between Van Helsing and Dracula, Dracula spoke in a Bela Lugosi-ish accent, then towards the end he had a British accent. Was this just an error of the production studio, or was there some kind of meaning behind this?
shareDuring their first confrontation, in the high-rise office building, Dracula was trying to disguise his true identity by speaking in what sounded to me like a thick german accent. Up to this point in the film, Dracula was passing himself off as a reclusive corporate leader, thus the attempt to disguise himself by hiding in the shadows and altering his accent while speaking to VH.
shareIt wasn't Germanic - Lee wanted to give this Dracula a Romanian sounding accent and has said as much in interviews. It does falter back to British in some scenes.

It doesnt falter back to british in some scenes, its british in all scenes except that one where he is disguising himself from van helsing.
