IMDB says this film runs 78 minutes. But most recent copies I've seen run 74 minutes. What gives?

I was wondering the same thing. I just finished watching the movie on YouTube and that version was only about 74 minutes long. Were some scenes cut out or is it just an error on IMDB's part?

I'm watching it on Amazon Prime and it's an hour & 13 minutes.

One way to know to be sure would be to check for 16mm copies from 1973.

It could be due to a mistake in the transfer to video. I remember reading once that the DVD for Batman (1989) ran a few minutes shorter than its listed runtime because the transfer used a PAL source rather than NTSC and didn't compensate for the difference in frames-per-second. I don't have all the particulars, which you could probably find online, but I remember that the transfer was something like 4% faster than it should be. 74 is about 4% faster than 78, so that could be it.
