Instead of naming this movie "Ssssssss" it should of been named "Grrrrrrr" because that's what I mostly heard coming out of the snakes mouth. I've never ever heard of a snake having the ability to growl. What was the point of having the cobras growl? I expected the cobras to bark next.
Better yet, to say "Cheesy movie!"
They wernt growling, cobras can make deep breathing sounds like that to make themselves more intimdating to other animals..

shareI just got finished watching this. I hadn't seen it since about '76. Since then I've interacted with many variety of snakes, and while some of them do make unusal sounds, the snakes in this movie were the noisiest damn animals I'd ever heard. They were almost as annoying as that freakin' mongoose that the doctor kept in the cage.
Overall....it was the typical formulaic 70's horror flick. No happy endings.
Happy endings are overrated.

grrrr! some dumb lady at a local video store actually recommended that i rent this! i'm sure i must've seen it in the 70s or something...i had a huge crush on dirk benedict at the time. anyway, it was so freakin' stupid i just HAD to watch the whole thing to see how it ended!
shareNot sure about growling but the King Cobra is the most beautiful creature. I hate people who kill these magnificent reptiles (any reptile). While I would not want a pet a cobra obviously I can admire a most remarkable and threatened creature.

Yeah, that was so fake. Cobras might hiss a little, but they never growl or roar. The pet python also roared, but pythons are very quiet snakes.
